Let's Try This Again
Obviously,I have been exceedingly lazy and less than disciplined about blogging, I would like to be better about this for a couple of reasons:
1: I love to see what my friends and family are up to. . . leading me to assume they want to see what I am doing too.
2: I like documenting what I've accomplished and being able to look back and see the progress I've made on my ever growing list of projects, goals, and hobbies.
I decided as a way to document the year and structure my blog posts (at least a tiny bit) I would participate in the 365 day photo project. I have seen some other bloggers and friends doing this and I think it will be fun to look back at my photos at the end of the year and it will let all of you see what catches my eye on a daily basis (expect more than a few cat pictures). My plan is to do a 365 day project post every Monday posting the pictures from previous week Sunday-Saturday and then posting on projects (house, yard, crafts, cooking as I accomplish things). We'll see how it goes. . . .

All You Can Eat Buffet
Over the weekend I got busy sanding, painting and otherwise revamping the hand-me-down buffet we have been using for the last five years. This little guy was my grandparents (I've mentioned their/our other dining room furniture here) and has been painted at least twice, once blue and once white with varnish over the paint. The white version, with aged and yellowing varnish, is what we had kept it as up until now.
Aside from the discoloration of the paint it had a few chips, cracks and problems, both from us and it's tenure in my grandparents attic.
After sanding, painting and new hardware it is looking fresh and lovely!!!!!
This buffet make-over is also making me realize I need to do some work on the dining chairs. I will take some complete shots of the dining room after I work on the chairs. . . but . . . one thing at a time.

End of Summer
The last two weekends have been beautiful! The oppressive heat of the summer broke (although we hear it is heating back up this coming week) and has led to open windows, walks, and a renewed interest in almost everything. . .including this blog.
I thought I would share a few of my favorite pictures from the last few weeks.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yard V: The Return
Hello all! Yes, I am aware that I have been missing for over a month.
The summer began with Jerod and I doing nothing but constantly working on the yard, culminating in building a privacy fence. We built this fence the weekend of June 11th and 12th and it was hard, hot and difficult. We ran into some trouble with a rock filled yard and tree roots but ultimately finished it and were extremely pleased with ourselves. Two days later Norman was hit with a large hail, wind and rain storm. We received golfball sized hail and sustained 70 mile per hour winds! Aside from it being a scary storm (the cats were going nuts) and having to get some damage to our house fixed (thank goodness for insurance) a large chunk of our new fence was blown down (sucked off is a more accurate description) most of our bedding plants were killed and the garden took a beating. This incident sort of killed my blogging spirit for a few weeks but I am back now with a few picture updates!
Here are a couple of pictures of the fence (isn't it pretty)! Our shed which I painted (check out how boring it was before! and what the garden is looking like.
Enjoy. . .
*If you need a refresher on were the yard started you can check it out here, here, here and here*

The Yard: Part IV, things are growing
I know it has been ages since my last post but I needed to let a few things start growing before updating everyone on the yards progress. Also, I will admit I was being a bit lazy about taking pictures.
Without further ado. . .here are the pictures! This is a little overview of most of the garden.
